About the Band
The mission of the Bay Area Concert Band is to provide a musical performance opportunity for adults and students bringing a concert band repertoire to the local citizenry.
The Bay Area Concert Band embodies the concert band tradition. Under the direction of conductor Stephen Simpkins, we annually perform five concerts of traditional concert band literature ranging from classical to modern.
The membership represents an array of ability including semi-professional musicians to former high school and college band players who have taken a renewed interest in band performance.
